a Pop Art Party
Thursday April 23 2015
Inferno Nightclub will host the first night of pop art event ABSINTHE on Thursday, April 23, featuring four sets of musicians, followed by a DJ set with beats that people can dance the night away to.
ABSINTHE will showcase a variety of musicians, as well as one-woman multi-talent performer Zhalarina Sanders. The musicians include singer-songwriter Sabrina Ross, hip-hop artist Rich Robbins, basement pop/rock group Modern Mod, and Minneapolis’ garage rock/punk band Frankie Teardrop.
ABSINTHE’s purpose is to unite artists to foster collaborations, as well as to create connections between the people appreciating what artists are doing with artists. It is intended to be a safe, inclusive space for artists to express themselves and to connect with others, bridging artistic mediums and breaking down the barrier that often exists between artist and spectator.
The first ABSINTHE event was at Madison’s Orpheum Theatre in 2002. There have been multiple renditions of the original event in Madison and Boston since then. While this will be the only ABSINTHE event of 2015, there will hopefully be more in the future.
Doors at 6:30 pm; Music at 7 pm.
$12 for Thursday night, or $20 for both Thursday and Friday night
